AHSS Adds Seven Subjects to American System

Abdul Hamid Sharaf School is excited to be offering an expanded number of courses for the 2026 – 2027 school year. The courses include extra AP classes, advanced subject courses, and new topics to the American Diploma System in our high school.
The new subjects offered include AP Computer Science, AP Psychology, AP Environmental Science, AP Human Geography, EST Economics, Advanced Spanish, High School Art and Pre-AP English Literature.
The addition of four new AP classes brings the total number of AP classes AHSS offers to seven, including AP Pre-Calculus, AP Biology, and AP English Literature, which have been offered in previous years. Below are how the new class options work for our students:
11th and 12th graders have the option of AP Computer Science, AP Psychology, EST Economics or a Spanish/Art class track.
10th, 11th and 12th graders have the option of dropping one of their science classes and taking AP Environmental Science.
10th graders have the option of taking AP Human Geography instead of World History, as well as the option of taking Pre-AP English Literature instead of standard English Language Arts.
We are excited to offer the new courses and thank our staff who have worked so hard preparing curriculum to best encourage success in our students. Students should register for the AP classes and tests they are taking with Ms. Alia.
