Abdul Hamid Sharaf School is proud to introduce a new tradition at the school. In October, we will host our first annual Ms. Sue Dahdah Writing Competition. The competition is a celebration of writing in Arabic and English Languages. It will honor the memory of our school co-founder, the late Ms. Sue Dahdah.
The contest is dedicated to Ms. Sue’s devotion to the school and her passion for teaching literature. Ms. Sue was not only the director of the school up until last fall when she passed away, but she was an English Language and literature teacher for the 12th grade.
Competitions will take the form of timed writing exercises, under staff supervision, about selected topics to be given to them. The writing competitors will be split into three age classifications: Grades 4-6, Grades 7-9, and Grades 10-12. The writing will be judged by English and Arabic Language teachers at AHSS.
The competition will run from Monday, Oct. 28 through Thursday, Oct. 31. Winners and prizes will be announced within two weeks of the competition’s end.
