AHSS 9th grader Leen Abu Hijleh was recently awarded the “Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera” (DELE) certificate for knowledge of the Spanish Language.
Students will compete against others in their age group. Matches will be played during P.E. and recess over a period of several weeks.
The winners in the Arabic and English Sections of the first-annual Ms. Sue Writing Competition were announced on November 12.

Abdullah M. Abudayyeh taught chemistry at AHSS from 2016 to 2022. He now holds a Ph.D from the University of Otago in New Zealand and is now working on postdoctoral work in France and Belgium.
Longtime educator and beloved AHSS teacher Ms. Laila Snobar is retiring at the end of the 2023/24 school year. Ms. Laila has been teaching at AHSS for 38 years, the majority of the time the school has been in operation.
