Bake Sale for King Hussein Cancer Foundation

On  the Tuesday of last week, our school has initiated a bake sale in which grades 1-7 have participated in. The aim of the activity was first, to raise awareness of the seriousness of the disease and its patients. Secondly, to raise funds which are given out to the King Hussein Foundation.

The King Hussein Cancer Foundation- Governing Body  (The Foundation) is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit institution founded in 1997.  KHCF is the largest community-based organization in Jordan dedicated to combating cancer. KHCF’s work focuses on fundraising and development, global advocacy, public awareness on early detection and prevention, cancer coverage and patient support.

It is to be noted that the KHCC is the leading cancer center in the Middle East region providing adult and pediatric patients with state of the art comprehensive cancer care for all types of cancer. It serves as a disease-specific cancer center, making it the first and only center in the developing world to earn such a distinction.

Therefore, with the efforts of our students and their “delicious” bakes, our students and teachers have raised money in order to donate them to the center in order to stand with the patients and combat this disease.
